ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Institution Following the proposal of the Rectorate of Ondokuz Mayıs University and the decision of the Higher Education Council dated January 19, 2011, the Electrical Program, formerly part of Samsun Vocational School, was transferred to the Department of Electrical and Energy at Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School, where it continues its educational and training activities.
Degree Awarded Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded an Associate Degree Diploma conferring the title of ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN.
Admission and Registration Requirements Graduates of Vocational and Technical High Schools are eligible to enroll in the program by taking the Higher Education Entrance Exam (YKS). The Council of Higher Education (ÖSYM) determines the list of higher education programs to which eligible candidates may apply.
Rules on the Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal, and Informal). At the beginning of each academic year, an exemption exam is organized for the Computer and Foreign Language (5-i) courses included in the curriculum for newly enrolled students in all programs of our Vocational School.
Students who believe they have achieved the expected learning outcomes of these courses are eligible to take the exams. Those who pass the exam(s) are exempted from the corresponding course(s) in the curriculum.
Qualification Requirements and Rules Successfully completing all courses in the program, corresponding to a total of 120 ECTS credits.
Profile of the Program The aim is to train personnel who have the skills to design, manufacture, and assemble electrical systems in accordance with the requirements of the industry, possess the knowledge to carry out all kinds of maintenance, repair, and operation in industrial enterprises, and are qualified to work in design and production units.
In addition to the compulsory courses in the curriculum, students are offered elective courses alongside vocational courses that contribute to their personal and professional development.
Employment Profiles of Graduates Graduates are employed in the private and public sectors producing goods or services related to the electrical and energy industry.
Progression to Advanced Degree Programs Students who successfully graduate from the program may, upon passing the Vertical Transfer Exam administered by ÖSYM, transfer to the following undergraduate programs:
